With the Dominion gone, vultures circled the carcass of Mourning Glory as it struggled to put itself back together again. On Friday night, new face and travelers worked together to rebuild a broken barrier and keep the Cult of the Silent safe from Raiders. More townsfolk worked their way through the sewers to flush out radioactive material left by the Dominion, creating a source for clean water. Mourning Glory was ready to put in the work to rebuild, but not everyone visiting had the same idea of what that looked like.
Both SAINTcorp™ and Ford representatives made appearances that night, announcing a meeting would be happening between the two wasteland superpowers the next day. Sloane, CEO of SAINTcorp™ schmoozed with townsfolk, trying to convince them of SAINTcorp™’s kindness while Maxmillion Ford-- father of Allegro, Mustang, and Vic-- made his presence known in town. Another new face, Severin, asked individuals to take notes on the strange zed that were rumored to be on their way. On top of all this, feral Sempers appeared, talking about the care facility they came from and the mysterious Skyler.
Saturday morning started with the arrival of the Devoted Dead as they attacked the sleepy town. Those awake dispatched the unsettling zed, but there was more to come. Throughout the day, the town slowly rebuilt- a wartime minefield was cleared, the town’s surrounding water was cleansed, and the Silent were stopped from making a grave mistake. Abandoned bunkers were plundered as well, and those brave enough to search them found plenty of interesting things.
Meanwhile, others prepared for the town meeting, some being asked by the Ford’s themselves to have a seat at the table. After some tense negotiations punctuated by STC protesters, shots were fired at Maximillion Ford by a disgruntled Saltwise, and the meeting was drawn to a close. It was decided that SAINTcorp™ would create an office in Capital City while the settlement was restored, and in exchange made concessions about how they will operate their business in Mourning Glory.
A strange signal made its way into Mourning Glory, luring Kings and Queens Court faithful back to its source- a grisly scene. It seems that it may be connected to the Diva, a KQC with mysterious empathic abilities, who may be making an appearance soon in town with her “Farewell Tour.”
After a day of unsettling and deadly encounters, the true horde of Devoted Dead made their appearance. They were led by a frighteningly powerful robed zed, who they seemed to circle around in a frenzy. Those fighting slogged through the battle until they could defeat the zed’s apparent leader and take their head. It would seem this is not the last Mourning Glory will see of these undead.
