The Inside Scoop

You wanted info, we’ve got it!

Last trade, citizens asked for a behind the scenes feature on your favorite news outlet-- The Chronicle! We’re not immune to flattery, so we’ve brought you the amazing history of Mercy Pointe’s premiere news source!

The Chronicle began when the little town of Rapid Maples fell to power hungry Final Knights. The two founding brothers-- Garrett Fletch as the Lead Reporter and Thomas Fletch as the Head Cartographer-- were motivated by the falling of local settlements to capture their stories, histories, and insights for the future. (Editors note: The Chronicle does NOT claim connection to any previous publications in the Grand Tides Area).

The Chronicle continued to focus on storing, preserving, and researching events important Post-Fall events, believing the history of the present wasteland deserves as much attention as its predecessor. The Chronicle has an open door policy for reporters of all walks of life-- however you must complete a full interview before publishing. Their current departments are as follows: Cartography; Archival & Research; Reporting; Distribution, Marketing, & Design.

Lately, Garret has taken a step back from the limelight and allowed Thomas to take charge of the Chronicle as Lead Reporter. For any comments, questions, and/or concerns, please reach out to Thomas Fletch!

Orchard Conquers Battlement day

After a day long battle between Hope’s Hand and The Orchard for boons and curses, it was finally time for Capture the Flag. Unfortunately, things didn’t go as planned when the surprise Green Team turned out to be taken over by the mysterious organization known as The Rewritten.

Hope’s Hand’s Captured Flag

Assassins tormented both teams, who were separated on opposite sides of town. Unfortunately, two lives were lost that night to the dastardly villains-- reports say that of local Brave Scouts Alice and Fred. Fortunately, Alice redeemed herself when she captured Hope’s Hands’ flags Sunday morning with Scoutmaster Beard and won the game for the Orchard! Congrats!

We attempted to reach Orchard leader Ray for comment, but couldn’t seem to find him.

Firestarters Find no kindling

Enraged “hospital workers” descended on Mercy Pointe, stating that they were attacked the previous trade. Trade-goers quickly dispatched them after finding a lighter in their pocket. Witnesses claim that the workers were Firestarters in disguise. The quick thinking of these townsfolk may have smothered any further flames that weekend.

The Chronicle Institutes “No Retractions” Policy

Due to accusations of misquoting, The Chronicle is issuing a No Retractions policy while interviewing those in town. We would encourage interviewees to think before they speak-- though we do still want to hear you speak!

Chronicle Reporters will be representing themselves with Press Badges per request of faction member Mags. Please ask to see a reporter’s badge if you think you’re being tricked. This is the Wasteland after all!

rumors

It’s your favorite-- local rumors! We’re here to spill the most piping hot tea we can find, from incoming threats to crazed town leaders. Read on for your daily dose of gossip!

Horde Incoming

Hope’s Hand reports a horde of zed amassing at the southern border of the Great Tides area. Marigold Flowers advises townsfolk to barricade their homes, and asks for any able fighters and medics to join them in protecting Mercy Pointe. Will you answer her call?

Elias Snaps!

Chronicle reporters came into town last trade following rumors of Elias Tharen, the mayor of Mercy Pointe, attacking citizens. While some trade-goers defended Elias, our reporters think they’re hiding the dangerous truth-- Elias has finally snapped. We’ll report back after investigations continue this upcoming trade.

Jelly Ick

Odd creatures crawled from Mercy Pointe’s shore on Saturday of last trade, causing confusion and chaos. Reports say they were jellyfish like creatures with slow moving stalks that allowed them to navigate the beach. Disturbingly, the creatures had multiple probiscis peeking out from their bells. We fear what could happen should one of these ominous Jelly Icks capture their prey!
